Description
Chrysanthemum (mum) is a plant. It gets its name from the Greek words for “gold” and “flower”. People use it to make medicine. Chrysanthemum was first cultivated centuries ago in south east Asia. The Japanese adopted the flower and was so enamored with it that they gave it the status of royalty. Chrysanthemum is used to treat chest pain, high blood pressure, type 2 diabetes, fever, cold, headache, dizziness, and swelling. In combination with other herbs, chrysanthemum is also used to treat prostate cancer.
Chrysanthemum can be used in tea, an herbal tincture, and as a decoction, which is a liquid made from boiling the herb
Women who are pregnant, want to become pregnant, or who are breast-feeding should consult with a doctor before consuming. Also children under 18 and people with a history of allergies to plants.
