Description
Lemon balm is a member of the mint family and considered a calming herb. Lemon balm is native to northern Africa, Iran, central Asia, and mountainous areas of southern Europe. Lemon balm was used as far back as the middle ages to reduce stress and anxiety, promote sleep, improve appetite, and ease pain and discomfort from indigestion (including gas and bloating).
Lemon balm can be used in tea, an herbal tincture, and as a decoction, which is a liquid made from boiling the herb
Women who are pregnant, want to become pregnant, or who are breast-feeding should consult with a doctor before consuming. Also children under 18 and people with a history of allergies to plants.
